It's very, very nippy-noodles outside but I have to stay in tip-top form for my first match on Sunday which I'm sure will be the first of many in my very successful career as a Quidditch star and/or back-up dancer, despite the subarctic conditions.

Honestly, what kind of sadist wants teams flying about in sub-zero temperatures? With any luck, there will be rain as well and we can all just enjoy a bit of pneumonia and die early deaths while we're at it.

It's almost faster to just cast a freezing charm on myself, but I can't be bothered.

Exercise is good for combating cold, you know.

[Totally not glad that he can just sit there covered in as much as he wants while you athletes suffer in uniform, nope.]

So is staying indoors, but you can't tell people.

You'd rather cancel the game? I don't think your captain would appreciate hearing that -- or ours.

Cancelling would be a bit like forfeiting and we can't just let those swots in Ravenclaw beat us. I don't see why we can't just have the match during a different time when we're not likely to contract TB from frigid conditions.

You know, during final exams or something equally useless.

why did I think she was a claw fff

If quidditch was a warm-weather sport, we'd have too many bored athletes roaming the halls. That's worse than a bit of cold.

And I'm sure the teachers would beg to differ with you about exams. This is a school, as you've hopefully noticed.

Teachers are often opposed to perfectly reasonable things. Like skipping when your hair won't go right.

Fat chance I'd miss that with how much homework I get.

book character = Ravenclaw in my mind apparently

I wouldn't exactly call that reasonable. Our hair doesn't affect our brains, after all. [Although he skipped classes when his hair was dyed rainbow, shhh.]

I'm certainly not against them, but sports are only going to make that more difficult.
