Character Information
Name: Georgia Nicolson
Canon Origin/Series: Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging/the Georgia Nicolson book series. There's the main website for the books.
School Year: 4th
House: Slytherin
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Out of school living location: Leeds, West Yorkshire, England
Blood status: Muggleborn

Personality: In a few words, Georgia is a teenage girl. The end.

No, not the end; Georgia is a teenage girl who cares about make-up and blokes and being silly and what not. She isn't one who really cares about school and finds that it just fills the time before you can go home and hang out with your girlfriends and do your hair and do Bison horn dances and stalk boys. She is very self-centred and selfish, she is considerably vain, and she is very silly. Her aspirations in life are to become a famous backup dancer or famous for absolutely nothing, and she is very stuck in her own world. She thinks everything that goes wrong (vis-a-vis boys) is the end of the world, thinks her parents should stay in the house so they don't embarrass her (because everyone over the age of 25 is old and their lives are over as far as she is concerned). She can be very sarcastic and rude to them, which they aren't exactly amused by.

In love, (because it's definitely going to happen) Georgia tends to give a lot of herself and even though she can seem like a capricious tart at times and a lot of the time, SHE IS, she is really just a girl looking for love and perhaps snogging. She can be sort of naive about boys sometimes (how can a boy snog you and then not ring you? and when she gets her heart broken, it's all very dramatic and the end of the world and she can be miz for quite a long time–that is, until the next sex god shows up. In a lot of ways, she doesn't seem to realize that a guy should like you for you, and seems to think that tarting yourself up and trying to be mature and act older and lure boys is the key to a healthy relationship. Even though she is actually very funny, she learns in the beginning of both the book and movie that 'girls aren't for funniness' and she doesn't really shake that until the end of the last book.

Despite this, when she's not on the rack of love, she is the type of person to be very funny and crazy and have a good time and her 'immature japes', (such as setting locusts free in the science lab, dressing a skeleton up as the groundskeeper, swinging gum from the end of her nose like a bogey, and wearing A LOT of fake beards) seem to imply at least a bit of cleverness and a great sense of humour if nothing else. In terms of her friends as well, her bestie is often talking about nature and owls and cuckoo spit and things like that, and she makes no secret about how boring she finds it. She is a live in the moment kind of girl, not really a serious person (as such). She can occasionally be kind, especially to her mad sister & pet(s), and friends in that she sticks with them through thick and thin (unless she happens to be snogging one of their boyfriends. By accident. ish.), even if she feels that they should let her share HER agony before they start rambling on about theirs. Because they are filled with selfishosity.

She will help out someone in need occasionally, but half the time feels its more effort than its worth. When she does stand up to someone, chances are it was someone who really had it coming. She stands up to the Bummer Twins when they make her do what she doesn't feel like doing and again when they get Nauseating P. Green expelled for forcing her to shoplift for them. She also stands up to Mark and the Blunderboys when they harass the little Titches, and in return they start following her around (good grief).

Canon Background: Georgia starts out in the first book being 14, dealing with her crazy sister, Libby and mad cat, Angus, shaving off her eyebrows by mistake as well as stalking and trying to catch, Robbie, the older lead singer of a cool band and pretty much sex personified for Georgia. While this is going on, she's hanging out with her Ace Gang, helping(ish) her best friend Jas with her boyfriend Tom, buying make-up, getting snogging lessons from whelk boys, dealing with her dad moving to New Zealand for a job, and making sure her mother doesn't flirt with the interior decorator too much. After many long efforts of getting Robbie to notice her over Wet Lindsay (his girlfriend, technically) and deciding to see each other, Georgia's mom decides they're going to move to New Zealand to join her dad. So ends the first book.

The second starts with Georgia nearly going to New Zealand (her trip is halted by her father having his shoe blown off from a rogue bore) and dating Robbie only long enough so he can dump her for being too young. In reaction to this, she decides to become a mature and callous sophisticate and date Dave the Laugh to make Robbie jealous, but he turns out to be a fun and nice guy, and Georgia eventually breaks it off out of guilt. While all of this is going on, Angus has fallen in love with the cat across the street, Naomi and can't be kept away from her. After accidentally(ish) causing the groundskeeper to trip over his wheelbarrow, Georgia gets suspended just in time for her dad to come back from New Zealand, and also just in time for Robbie to come around and say that he wants her to be his one and only! Georgia is thrilled...but isn't as thrilled to hear that one of her mates is now going out with Dave the Laugh? End book 2.

Book 3 has Georgia realizing the ups and downs of dating a rockstar, and as Robbie isn't exactly around all the time, Georgia finds herself strangely drawn to Dave the Laugh (as well as her cute student teacher for French). Angus can't be kept away from Naomi and if he doesn't shape up, they intend on chopping off his trouser snake addenda prompting Georgia to ignore her father and call him a cat molester. Georgia accidentally kisses Dave the Laugh a couple of times after he tells her about the ways of the horn and redbottomosity (essentially, liking a lot of people), and he asks her to choose, and just after Angus gets neutered, Naomi gets preggers.

There are 7 more books and we will be here forever, so, to summarize some of this: (4) Georgia stays with Robbie, visits France, and Dave the Laugh breaks it off with her friend, Ellen, and Naomi has a bunch of furry Anguses. But then Robbie leaves to go to New Zealand for a year, taking Georgia's heart with him.

(5) She is heartbroken and fed up with boys for a while, or at least until she meets the new singer for Robbie's band, a half Italian, half American bloke named Masimo. There is disco dancing, and then she tries to talk to him (and Lindsay is aiming for him as well, mind you), but gets her fake eyelashes stuck together and ends up looking like an idiot. She ends up on a date with him then he goes to visit America.

(6) Georgia ends up going with her family and bestie Jas, thinking that she will get to see him (she vastly underestimates the distance between Tennessee and Manhattan) and she comes back home (after rodeo and Elvis times in Nashville) the same place she has started in. She gets a really nice letter from Robbie which confuses her, and while going to a party (in shoes that are 3 sizes too small), Masimo goes off with Lindsay and Georgia has to get stitches on her feet for her stupid. While being miserable, Masimo comes to personally ask her parents if she can go to dinner with him. Her class is performing Macbeth and people are joking about PANTS, and in a burst of honesty, she asks Masimo to be her boyfriend and he asks for a week to think about it.

(7) He ultimately turns her down after saying he still didn't want to be serious, and she distracts herself from her heart break with play rehearsals and planning her friend Rosie's Viking wedding, and also sends Robbie a letter and through all of this she is still having occasional snogs with Dave the Laugh (who already has a girlfriend, it has to be said). Masimo decides that he's ready to date Georgia seriously, JUST AS ROBBIE SHOWS UP AGAIN. And then Georgia flees.

(8) Georgia tries to discover the intentions of Robbie while deciding if Masimo still likes her and trying to figure out her feelings regarding the two of them. After much flipping and flopping (and threatening from Lindsay), she ultimately chooses Masimo. She tries to get her parents to pay for a trip to Italy to visit him (to no avail) and goes on a camping trip for school. When it is gate crashed by the lads she ends up having yet another kiss with Dave the Laugh.

(9) She still can't get to Italy to visit Masimo over break, but when Angus gets hit by a car and is struggling to live, she concentrates on that. Through it all, Dave the Laugh is being her shoulder to cry on and in combination with Dave hanging about more and Masimo constantly coming to see her, it isn't long before Masimo gets the wrong (or completely accurate, depending on where you're standing) idea. Dave and he are about to have a fisticuffs at dawn, when Georgia breaks it up by shouting "STOP IN THE NAME OF PANTS."

(10) Masimo is initially upset with Georgia, but things seem to be going okay (other than the fact that she is now getting in trouble for snogging at the school gates). Things are going as smoothly as they can with the school play of Romeo & Juliet when Masimo says he has to move to London for his band and wants to take Georgia with him. Georgia is confused as usual, but ultimately decides to tell him to go without her just as Dave the Laugh breaks up with his girlfriend. And then in a roundabout way, Georgia and Dave the Laugh FINALLY get together. The end.

Background (AU!Canon; HP): Georgia Nicolson is an average girl born to average (but very pathetic) parents. She had a pretty normal muggle life, all things considered. She lived with her dad (with a huge conk) and mum (with enormous basoomas) and was pretty afraid of acquiring either (but she did), and with her giant half-Scottish wildcat named Angus and the rest of her mad family she had her hands full trying to stay sane. Considering most of the people she lives with are bonkers, it's to be expected that a few strange things happened from time to time, such as getting so frustrated with her orangutan gene eyebrows she accidentally jinxed them off or her school uniform skirt shrinking just as she went past the headmistress (and getting a bad conduct mark for her trouble).

When the letter arrived for Hogwarts, she could finally pinpoint a cause for all the strangeness– but that didn't mean she wanted to go. A magic school with wands and wizards? That sounded like some naff place that would be full of drippy idiots (and probably Hobbits). After many a row with her parents, she finally acquiesced to going, if only to get away from her weird parents and LOUD baby sister. The more she learned about the wizarding world, the more confused she became. They weren't allowed to bring a mobile and talked via owl? What was next, gay elves named Legalet?

Needless to say, she was completely bowled over by most of the wizarding world, being as muggleborn as they come, but she takes it in stride and the plethora of dishy blokes at Hogwarts certainly didn't hurt. Unfortunately, she doesn't really exert all that much effort to learn about wizarding culture, and she definitely doesn't exert much effort to do SCHOOLWORK. She learned that wizarding schools could be just as boring as muggle schools, with the notable exception that at least things blow up sometimes.

She's absolutely rubbish at most of her subjects, especially DULL ones like History of Magic or complicated ones like Potions, but she's half decent at DADA since it's at least interesting, and enjoys Flying and (lol) Muggle Studies. And hopes that Divinations will help her find out if that fit chap in 6th year will ask her to Hogsmeade next Friday...

How would your character fit in to each House?
Gryffindor: Georgia is bold, and that is a fact. She often pulls pranks that get her into a lot of trouble, so gutsy she is. Her drama queen-like nature lends her to being loud and stubborn and set in her ways. As for chivalry, it occasionally does happen. She has stood up to the Bummer Twins when they got a girl kicked out of school for stealing for them and made the Blunderboys stop picking on the first formers. By and large, though, that takes a lot for her to do, Georgia tends to be too intensely lazy to be concerned with lifting a finger to help another person.

Hufflepuff: Georgia sticks by her friends through thick and thin–unless she feels the attention should be focused on her. Mostly though, she'll help her friends out of their tough times and stand by them even if they're being really annoying and will be there to cheer them up and as their shoulder to cry on (even though it's more often her doing the crying). She has also taken a bullet for her friends before, claiming that she was solely to blame when they acted collectively. But, as stated, she is not a hard worker in the least, she's almost aggressively lazy, really, and has made out with the boyfriend of one of her mates at LEAST once, which is not exactly loyal behaviour, as such.

Ravenclaw: Oh lawl. Well, she can be rather witty, and she's creative in deciding what nail polish to put on and outfits, but oh ho ho, she is almost anti-learning. The only time she really does decently in class is when she wants to prove a teacher wrong (she becomes top girl in French this way) and the only things she's really interested reading are Cosmo and 'How to Make Any Twit Fall in Love With You'. It indicates that she does in fact have a brain, but perhaps that this is not the house she is destined for.

Slytherin: Georgia is definitely resourceful. She uses anything in her arsenal–for boy trapping that is. This includes stalking (either him or his girlfriend), spending tons of squids on make-up or clothes (or shoes that are too small), acting like casual sophisticate and doing what it takes to get the guy. Her dreams definitely involve being rich and famous, but she's not actually ambitious about getting this to really HAPPEN. She doesn't really have any talents with singing, so she plans on just hanging around a rockband until they get really famous and being a groupie for the rest of her life. When it comes to her group, she's definitely the leader, but she's also VERY muggleborn, and not all that interested in making a full switch to the wizarding world.

Sample Journal Entry:
I'm home for winter hols and Chrimbo is right around the corner. Not that there's ANYTHING to celebrate, the way Vati keeps popping in here, asking me to pull rabbits out of hats and other complete nonsense. And I can't even charm my door shut.

Honestly. What is the point of having magic if I can't keep the elderly mad out of my room? I ask you. Uncle Eddie is walking around with his extraordinarily bald head and Christmas undercrackers. It's like watching porn, living in this house. He thinks it is SOOOO amusing.

It's not.

Sample Interaction Post in Third Person:
Potions was boring. Of course, History of Magic was even MORE boring, and Transfigurations was utterly useless (if you want a porcupine, why give us pin cushions, honestly!) but Potions had a special knack for having a really worthless set of rules, at least in Georgia's opinion. Sometimes you had to put the ingredients in in a special ORDER or it wouldn't WORK or if you had too much of something, you might muck up the whole thing and you had to do EXACT measurements and it was VAIR VAIR tedious and life was far far too short, so she typically just threw all of it into the pot and hoped for the best.

But when flipping through the book for SOMETHING to keep her attention during the lecture, Georgia came across a potion worth actually attempting to get right. Amortentia? They certainly didn't say anything about that in the muggle books on boys! Were wizarding boys different? They were certainly more gorgey, if Hogwarts was any way to tell. Does that mean wizards are just more attractive?

As Georgia tried to think whether she'd become any more attractive since she'd found out she was a witch, a dark shadow loomed over her love potion instructions.

"Excuse me, but I'm TRYING to read very important information here." She looked up and saw it was the Potions Professor. And he looked unamused.

Merde.
